Today we went here -
Beautiful, Maryland farm country…
These are all photos from where we met…
Haley. A rescue Treeing Walker Hound Dog.
We went with intentions of bringing Harry, a male Treeing Walker Hound, home. But the manager didn’t want us to meet him because he’d been abused and was very timid around men and children. We were really up for the challenge since Maggie was a real challenge her whole life.
The manager strongly suggested Haley because she is very good natured and gentle and great with kids. I loved that about her and that she is a female and that her name begins with H. How cute!
Henry asked where Harry was the whole time we drove out to the boarding kennel and he asked the manager where Harry was too. He had seen a photo on the computer and the kid has a steel trap mind. But he seemed to bond with Haley right away.
Here she is in the back of our car ready to go home with us.
She made it home and she is adjusting. We are hoping to adopt her. The kennel is a rescue place and rescues dogs from kill shelters. It is a wonderful place with a wonderful staff and group of volunteers. They want us to try her out for a week and let them know. They said they would come pick her up at any time if there were an issue.
So far she seems way more gentle and good natured than Maggie.
