2nd Generation Cousin Mafia

Nevaeh Lynn Pease (Nathan's daughter)

Henry Vincent Umstead on his 6 week birthday

Vinny was definitely the leader in the 1st generation Pease family cousin mafia. This past weekend we had a meeting of the second generation. Teagan, Nevaeh and Henry were all at my mom's house together. Nevaeh and Henry had a sleep over and she's already trying to take control over him. He needed protection from her quick hands. We know the young poundings lead to grown up bonds. I wish my battery didn't die. Teagan is definitely the leader of the second generation cousin mafia.

PS - I found the charger and I think Dave had it all along - I should have asked.

Beautiful Day

Today was a beautiful day in Rockport. Henry and I went on a long walk around Beauchamp Point. He was grumpy for the rest of the day, so we enjoyed the fun while it lasted. It's still 75 and past 6 pm - that's amazing.

I forgot to mention when Dave's Dad and Linda came up, Henry got so many gifts it was like having a 5th baby shower.

My camera is still broken, so no new pictures.

I just finished the book Redeeming Love. My friends from Marlboro gave it to me among other things when they came up. I was instantly hooked and finished the book in just a couple of days. I loved it and would highly recommend it. I have so many thoughts about what God was teaching me through the book but can't seem to write anything lately. Read it!

Each chapter of the book starts out with a quote or Bible verse - I love this one -

Hosea 6:1a “Come, let us return to the Lord;
for he has torn us, that he may heal us;"

WHAT'S going on!?

The men in my mom's family used to have Zac or Vinny sitting between them in a truck, slap their leg really hard and say, "WHAT'S going on?". I don't know why I just thought of that... probably because I couldn't think of a blog title. I am lying down in bed beside sleeping Henry enjoying the breeze from the open windows. Never mind, he just woke up. He's the cutest man in the world, so I don't mind.

We've had a lot going on lately. Someday I'll write about all of it. We did sell our house. It is a really neat story how it happened. I love it when you can clearly see God's hands in things.

Myriah and Annie left a few hours ago. It was so much fun to have them here this weekend. I don't think Myriah stopped working since she got here. She wants her new house to be Myriah's bed and breakfast - well this was Myriah's bed and breakfast on the road. She cooked us breakfast yesterday and then dinner last night - absolutely delicious. Then she made cream cheese brownie sundaes. Then everyone in our family who is in town came over for a late breakfast that she cooked. I could get used to that. Annie was the dish washing slave. Definitely spoiled.

Happy 6 Week Birthday Baby Boy

Baby Boy has had a lovely weekend with his cousin-aunts Annie and Myriah. He also had a visit from his cousin Neveah. We've enjoyed lovely walks in the glorious weather and went over to dinner at Grammie Sue's with cousin Teagan, Uncle Zac and Aunt Steph.... but my camera's battery died so I don't have any pictures. I can't find the cord to plug it in... don't tell Dave. I don't want to go on an all out search right now. We are having so much fun, though very tired.

The visit from the Grand-dad, Nana and Al from Maryland was cut short this week because of the weather. We did have a fun dinner while they were here and a cake for Grand-dad.

We (Annie and I) are looking forward to a gourmet meal cooked by Rye this evening. She definitely got the cooking genes - probably from her dad and Molly. I do okay but nothing like her. Can't wait.

I can't believe my baby boy's six weeks old today. I can't imagine life without my little Henry now. I get to go to my six week check up Thursday (not thrilled about that) which means I can start exercising May 1. Yeah!!

Visitors

We had so much fun with the group from Marlboro, MA that came up. A big group of us went out to dinner last night and then the Marlboro group came over after. It was so much fun and so refreshing. We haven't had people over in a while and we miss it. Dave's dad, Linda and Linda's cousin are on their way here now. It's Dave's dad's birthday today, so we're having a dinner and cake tomorrow night with my mom and Dan. Then on Thursday Rye and Annie should be here. It's such a treat to have all these people visit!

5 Weeks

Henry's 5 weeks today - pictures tomorrow

Dear God from the Dog

I stole this off another blog -

TO: GOD

FROM: THE DOG

Dear God: Is it on purpose our names are the same, only reversed?

Dear God: Why do humans smell the flowers, but seldom, if ever, smell one another?

Dear God: When we get to heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it still the same old story?

Dear God: Why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not ONE named for a Dog? How often do you see a cougar riding around? We do love a nice ride! Would it be so hard to rename the 'Chrysler Eagle' the 'Chrysler Beagle'?

Dear God: If a Dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears him, is he still a bad Dog?

Dear God: We Dogs can understand human verbal instructions, hand signals, whistles, horns, clickers, beepers, scent ID's, electromagnetic energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths. What do humans understand?

Dear God: More meatballs, less spaghetti, please.

Dear God: Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are, will I have to apologize?

Dear God: Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must remember to be a good Dog.

1. I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it or after they throw it up.

2. I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.

3. The Litter Box is not a cookie jar.

4. The sofa is not a 'face towel'.

5. The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.

6. I will not play tug-of-war with Dad's underwear when he's on the toilet.

7. Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is an unacceptable way of saying 'hello'.

8. I don't need to suddenly stand straight up when I'm under the coffee table .

9. I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house - not after.

10. I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt.

11. I will not sit in the middle of the living room and lick my crotch.

12. The cat is not a 'squeaky toy' so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it's usually not a good thing.

Centering Reunion

We had a Centering Pregnancy reunion last night. Four boys were there and the one girl didn't make it. It was really fun to see all the little babies.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter. Thank God for Christ dying on the Cross and shedding His blood to pay for our sins. Thank God he conquered death and rose again. Happy Easter.

4 Weeks Old Today

Henry got a 4 week birthday present in the mail today from Mishelle, Jason and family in MS. You can see the rattle slippers in the picture from today. They are so cute along with everything else he got!

Henry went to Moody's Diner for the first time today.
