This was Saltanat’s first visit to America. It’s difficult for a single woman to get a visa from her part of the world to the US due to the risk of them staying. We are so thankful and can see it was God’s perfect timing for her to come. She went to visit her younger sister and her sister’s husband in Florida for a few weeks before her whirlwind 48 hour New England trip.
I stole these photos from her sister’s facebook .
Saltanat has taken on the parental role in the sibling group of four since her mother died suddenly in 2007 (the last time she saw this sister) and her father died suddenly when she was thirteen. She has two younger sisters and a younger brother. She now feels like she can make the next move in her life because her youngest sister has graduated college and has a job. Saltanat is such a deep loving and responsible person. She has been through a lot and that is an understatement. Growing up where she did the trouble her family faced was not like America where people can overcome a wrong decision made by a parent or close family member. In her country a stigma is attached to your family forever. This girl has faced many odds and has come out a victor.
