Intense Ukraine Adoption Story

I have been following this blog for a couple of years.  Rachael with the same spelling is from Michigan and has four children – one adopted from Russian.  She recently took a trip to Ukraine to help an organization choose orphaned children who are about to age out of the system to come to America for 6 weeks in the summer.  As a result of this trip she and her family hosted a teenage boy.  Something she didn’t expect when leaving for the trip.  Once the boy stepped off the plane her heart melted.  The option of adoption cannot be discussed with host children and it’s not even certain they are available for adoption (complicated system).  But they knew they wanted him.  Now they are on an intense journey in Ukraine – getting court dates for the adoption, going through the legal process and saying goodbye to Sergey’s siblings.  Heart wrenching and a super miracle all at the same time.

Read for yourself here.

that is so touching and amazing.... my husband and i both said the other day that if we had the funds we would love to adopt a child. not a baby- a child.
