Meditations of My Heart

"HE drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock [the rock, Jesus Christ], steadying my steps and establishing my goings." Psalm 40:2

I just finished Francine River’s Mark of the Lion series.  I highly recommend it.  Highly.  When I was finishing the last book God was really speaking to me about Agape love and then again our church message on Wednesday night.  What does it matter if I am perfect in my Christian service but don’t Agape love my husband, my family and the lost people of this world.  God, please shed abroad Agape love in my heart.  That is my prayer and the women in this series were a picture of Agape love and it was highly convicting in a good way.

Psalms 68 speaks of God putting the fatherless in families and He is our Father.  Isn’t it awesome that things that can embitter us towards our families, our friends, this world, our circumstances can confirm that we belong to a new family, we have a Heavenly Father and we are just pilgrims in this world?  We can become thankful for the things that remind us we are just passing through.  Then we can receive God’s Agape love for ourselves, for Him and for others.  Then it won’t matter what man does to me,  because I really have God.  Not just in name.  I believe.  It is real.

Amen!!! I have never heard of the idea of us as pilgrims. What a beautiful way to look at our life here on earth. Thank you so much for linking up. I was so excited to see your post.
