Pinterest & More

I have recently been trying to cut out refined sugar.  Mostly because: I don’t like how it makes me feel while I’m pregnant; I know it’s terrible for me and I have a fear of getting gestational diabetes.   Tonight was a big fail.  I have been able to make gluten free brownies for Dave & Henry and not eat them.  Not so much today.

Betty Crocker does make some really good gluten free mixes.  Really good.

I started reading Wheat Belly.

wheat belly

I find it very fascinating.  He has been able to cure his own diabetes and many others by eliminating wheat.  99% if the world’s wheat supply is from a genetically altered form that was created to solve the world hunger problem.  That is really awesome but the havoc it reeks on the human body not so.  It actually increases blood sugar more than table sugar.

I finished Winter Garden in like 48 hours.

great book/ very intense.

I really, really enjoyed it.

I try to listen to our ministry’s live radio program as much as I can.  It’s called the Grace Hour and I listen online at www.gracehour.org.  Yesterday and today were a message split in two from the founding pastor on discipline.  It really struck a chord with me.  I have been meditating on it ever since.  It’s so easy to settle for the bad disciplines we have already formed and give up on allowing God to form new disciplines.  And these are from the smallest to the greatest tasks in our lives.  So good to focus on.

great

Via.  I think this is so true.  Or maybe better said let God form it into something good over time.  I have recently heard so many heart breaking stories of childhood abuse and the sudden death of a husband of over 20 years.  Wow.  A lot.  It’s amazing how God can take the heart break in our lives and turn it into something good for the kingdom.

I stole this photo off someone’s facebook.  Our pastor turned 15 today.  Well, he’s only had 15 birthdays since it falls on Leap Year!  Happy birthday, Pastor Schaller.  So grateful for your life!

I Love That Henry…

DSC_2404.jpg

I love that Henry is such a loving boy.

I love that Henry loves music and loves to sing and dance.

I love that Henry loves to raise his hands to heaven and sing halleluiah to the Lord during our night time routine.

I love that Henry prays for his family and all the animals on Stacey’s farm.

fun032-1.jpg

I love that Henry says he’s going jogging like his mommy Winking smile.

I love that Henry loves to play “On your mark, get set, go” when his Memaw watches him.

fun032-1.jpg

I love that Henry loves the farm so much.

I love that Henry loves animals so much.

I love that Henry will sit in the same spot and watch the horses for a long time.

fun032-1.jpg

I love that Henry loves adventure.

I love that Henry has a love hate relationship with fear.  Many things scare him but he loves to be afraid so he continues on.

fun032-1.jpg

I love that Henry loves people so much especially kids.

I love that Henry has a tremendous imagination.

I love that Henry asks to go to the farm every day.

I love that Henry asks to go to MyriahTim’s every day.

I love that Henry asks to get on a plane to go to Maine to see Zac & Christopher and names many other people in our family.

fun032-1.jpg

I love that Henry likes to pretend to be animals and ropes others into playing his games.

I love that Henry loves his family so much especially mommy, daddy and Maggie.

I love that Henry says he loves us.

I love that Henry gives great hugs.

I love that Henry loves to cuddle.

I love that Henry’s little footsteps into my room and his arms wrapped around my neck are the beginnings of a new day together.

I love that Henry practically dances with joy when Daddy gets home.

I love that Henry loves to help.

I love that Henry quotes lines from books during the day.

Best Daddy/Husband Ever

Zucchini-Devil's Food Snack Cake (Gluten Free)

via.

I had a girls’ night with my cousin Rye thanks to my wonderful husband.  Friday nights are his only week night home but he came home and took over our almost three year old Henry’s demands without skipping a beat.  When I got home I noticed David had baked the gluten free Betty Crocker Cake mix with Henry while I was gone.  He told me he asked Henry if he wanted to make the cake for me and Henry started crying that it was Henry’s cake.  Don’t mess with the boy’s chocolate!

20 St. Patrick Day Recipes

I never gave much thought to St. Patrick’s Day because: If I’m Irish it is such a small amount no one counts it, I don’t drink, and I am not so organized to be a cutesy, cutesy decorator for all cutesy holidays.  BUT I do LOVE green, I LOVE the story of St. Patrick, a missionary to Ireland, and my little boy, his aunt and his cousin were all born on or around the holiday.  So those are some reason to celebrate!  On that note, I have stolen a post from 36th Avenue on some great recipes I would make the ones I use gluten & dairy free!

Eat Your GREENS!

…This is what this post is all about.

I have to admit that St. Patrick’s Day is kind of new to me.

However I will adopt any Holiday that invites me to eat.

Enjoy the feast with me!

23 Weeks Pregnant–17 to Go

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing his for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.
