Redneck Party Ideas

My friend Beth and I have wanted to have a redneck party for a while.  I am not trying to be offensive or hurtful, so I apologize in advance.  I am embracing my inner redneck.

I am a redneck at heart because this is where I tried on wedding dresses!

(a place I tried on wedding dresses)

I am from Maine after all.  And not the moved there from out of state to be trendy Maine people.  The been there forevah Maine people.  So there’s gotta be a small party of me that is redneck.  Dave just calls it Burkettville.  Funny.

So here are my ideas so far (they are definitely not original):

Redneck Party Ideas

This makes me laugh my head off.  The toilet seat horse shoes.

If only my friend Beth had a broken down pick up truck in her back yard.  FUN!  We have GOT to try this.

How do you do this?

Outdoor drink holders

I think if we did this with baked bean cans or do they make round spam cans?  Here’s a side note.  I have actually been to a church picnic where the chicken was marinated in washed out kitty litter bins.  No joke.

GREAT costume idea sans the cigar or whatever it is.  I love it.  This is a morning outfit in Maine.  Redneck or not.  I think it’s called a relaxed culture.  I think I’m going to dare someone to wear this to a grocery store around here and see what people do.  I will pee my pants laughing.

Daddy says I’m ready to be the manager of shuffle board in Florida.  I think I look pretty cute in baby blue.

Our Little Monkey is 1 Month Already

DSC_0677-1.jpg

A shirt from cousin Annie that we love!  Resting with Daddy on the couch this morning before he and mommy went to the lunch rap together.

This little monkey is already 1 month old!  It’s hard to believe!

Henry is so in love with his little brother!  He always asks to hold him.

Yesterday evening Henry and I played Rocket Baby on the bed.  We made Hudson a rocket flying through the air and then Henry was a rocket as I held him up on my legs.  Henry didn’t want to stop playing.  Imagine that?  He is so adorable and has been doing really well with his potty training.  I have been talking to him about it for months and trying to get him to do it without forcing him.  I came up with this idea that we would take a trip to the beach if he stopped wearing diapers.  I think that plus the fact we have told him only babies wear diapers has motivated him to really work on his potty training.  Yesterday we were in the car for over an hour and he didn’t have an accident.  He did have a couple at home but has been doing very well over all.  We’re just hoping it lasts.

Listening to church service online tonight and now the service disappeared into cyber space, so I’ll take a moment to post my Pinterest favs for the week:

Hudson 4 Weeks Old

It’s really, really, really hard to believe our little peanut is four weeks old already.  Has it really been four weeks?  But I can’t remember life without him either, so it’s like it’s been forever at the same time.

There is limited mobility and total chaos in our house right now.  Dave is conquering the painting of the living room/ dining room area the past couple of days.

My littlest man relaxing at his cousin Rye’s house while we were working.  Such a good boy!!

And came home to a new wardrobe for him and Henry from cousin Annie in Chicago.  I’m talking tons of cute clothes!  Thank you, Chicago cousins!

Charlotte’s Web

I have been reading Charlotte’s Web to Henry a couple of times a week at bedtime.  My mom recently gave it to him.  The other night we finished the chapter where the sheep told him he was going to be Christmas dinner.  Maybe not the greatest content for a three year old.  Oh well.  I have been wondering what Henry’s comprehension of what I am reading is.  So I quizzed him yesterday.  I asked why Wilbur was sad and he told me, “I don’t know.  He’s going to die.”
