I am having a difficult time tolerating the cuteness of this little boy. I just want to squeeze him and kiss him all day long.

5 minute mother cut
This was a pre-nap, whip-snap, cut your hair off rush. It’s a dangerous situation to have a mother who would like to chop her own hair off, but instead chops off yours. Good thing he’s a boy. He did need it, but it all happened in a flash. That’s how we roll around here.

Once and For All
The Forth Conversation with Brother Lawrence in Robert Elmer’s Practicing God’s Presence by Brother Lawrence ( a 17th Century Monk) for today’s reader.
“Once and for all, said Brother Lawrence, we need to trust God and put our whole selves in His hands. He will never lead us wrong.”
It’s so easy to see how self-consumed, selfishly motivated, self-absorbed I am when reading this book. Very healthy for the Christian soul (my soul) to be convicted and exhorted in this way.
Happy Birthday to my, little brother Zacchary Michael Aiken. Love you tons!!

Now For Some Super Cuteness
This afternoon Henry and I went to visit a dear, precious sweet friend who just lost her dad on Sunday. She was told a week and a half before this her loving father was dying and she held him as he left his mortal body and entered heaven. It has been a bitter sweet time. Today we were having a serious God talk on her lawn (our favorite thing to do together), when out of the corner of our eyes we noticed Henry had squished himself into the doll stroller with which he was playing. It served as a very, very cute sight and some necessary comic relief to a sad time in Jess’ life.
Today is also my father’s 55 birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad!
