Link Love

This week’s link love – linking up with Kiwi Freckles :)

I want to create art, buy art and stare at art like this.

An example of Casey Wiegland’s art.

These children need to be adopted soon.  Before they age out of the system.  They also need our prayers.

I love my cousin but still want to beat her in followers.  She is beautiful, gifted and the greatest friend.

Kermarch farmhouse & cottage

I have had dreams of renting a rustic farmhouse on the coast of Brittany this week.

I was blown away by this message at church.

Had fun with my son and cousin watching my aunt try on dresses at Cache for her son’s wedding.  This one was just for fun.

Confessions

I am copying my cousin and Cherish linking here and listing some of my confessions.

Confessions:

1.  I had to walk out of a grocery store today after being rung up by the only cashier and a LONG line of people behind me because the only payments were cash and debit.  I. don’t. know. my. PIN.  OOPS!

2.  I had to walk back into the store to pay for the box of fruit snacks I opened while filling my cart with the groceries I didn’t buy.  Good thing I had some cash.  I never have cash.

4.  My mother in-law came over tonight for dinner for the first time in over six years (we were in Maine and she was in Maryland until now).  Stay-at-home-mom makes working dad come home and cook dinner for his mother.  Confession four.

5.  is I spent three weeks in Ukraine in 2000 with a borrowed, duct taped suitcase (long story).  The gentlemen in the country regretted my visit because this thing was beast to carry.  A beast.  Well the borrowed suitcase from a little old lady made it back to America (it really was a BIG shocker not sarcastic).  The biggest shocker (sarcastic) is the suitcase exploded on the baggage claim belt with an international flight watching (meaning LOTS and LOTS of peeps).  With my very dirty clothes including under garments making their way around the belt.  And my very helpful friends laughing instead of helping.  And gentlemen helping when I didn’t want them to help or see my disgustingly dirty clothes (we were on lots of trains and dirty places) or touch my disgustingly dirty clothes.

6.  I had a mullet.  No way am I posting picture!

Okay, okay, here’s the mullet!

7.  I had a permed mullet.  Seriously not posting photos of this!

This is not my mullet.  Just a really bad haircut Vinny gave me I think.

8.  I wanted to be a boy before I went to school (grade school not college ha-ha) and refused to answer to anything but SPIKE.  Yeah, you heard it.  SPIKE.

9.  I really would like more followers and more comments on my blogs!

Eleven Days

Eleven short days and someone turns two.

We went to Storyville again today.

And Wegman’s.  One of our favorite grocery stores.  Well, at least mine.

Like this new site.

My Heart is Overflowing

Do you ever just not know where to begin in your own thoughts because they are overflowing with gratitude towards Jesus Christ?

I am thankful that Jesus Christ was risen from the dead.  He was the first and made the way for all of us.  He made the way for my brother who is in heaven as I am writing this.  Really ALL ELSE PALES IN COMPARISON.  We have the victory – those who believe.  And a responsibility.  If hell is real, and it is.  Even if we don’t want it to be.  Not a politically correct subject, but political correctness didn’t create the universe, and, by the way, God DOES have a copyright on His creation and one day His authority will reveal itself in a way no one will deny EVEN IF they are denying Him now.

But the best part is having a relationship that fills that void in us.  That void we all have that cannot be filled by books, education, vacation, relationships, new houses and new hobbies.  Nope.  We all try.  We all fail.  But there is a God who loves us and knows every hair on our head.  He knows the day we will be taken from this earth.  He knows our deepest hurt.  There is no person who can know your deepest hurt.   None.  Nada.  Zip.  He does.  That is reason enough to get to know Him.  He IS the great Comforter.

Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics

Less Than Two Weeks

It’s less than two weeks when my baby will be two years old.  I just can’t grasp it.  The time has flown and at the same time my life began the day he was born (I can’t picture my life pre-Henry anymore).

P3010081

I need to figure out what’s up with my camera because this is the only photo that saved from the park today.

Back to Henry’s birthday.  So far I am not feeling the huge birthday party thang.  It seems too overwhelming for him and definitely a lot of work on me.  I don’t mind planning a party but I want it to all be meaningful to Henry where Henry is today, not just to have some photos to look back on.

So, we are trying to do a fun activity each day in honor of his birthday month.

Today we went to the park and went to his first basketball game at GGCA.  Our church’s school’s team, Lisa’s son and Beth and Amy’s brother (all the same person) is on the varsity team and they made the finals (I think that is very common for them).  They are an excellent team and Henry and I both enjoyed the action on the court and socializing with the crowd.  So much fun!

What I am NOT happy about is that Dave brought these home

OldBay

BECAUSE I love Old bay and find them ADDICTING.  You just can’t bring addicting food into the house.  Dave seems to get a kick out of items that make me lose self control.   I am not even a big chip eater.

Come on Herr’s why did you do this to me?

Like I have mentioned before discipline has been on my mind this year.  Spiritual discipline.  It's so important to filter or be selective about the world in which we surround ourselves (some things are out of our control) and the thoughts we allow ourselves to think.  I was thinking today that if we work out but eat lots of junk our progress will be hinder.

If we go to church, pray and read our Bibles but have no filter on what we take in mentally, emotionally or physically the other times, our spiritual growth will be hindered.  That’s not to say go hyper legalistic and cut everything out of your life (like Herr’s Old Bay chips :)).  You know what I’m saying?  Just staying in tune with a loving, gracious, merciful God.

Thank you to all of you who have been forced into following my blog.  How can I guilt YOU into following too?  Just click follow on the right side.

I’m Up

Well.  I’m up because my wonderful friend Beth (that is not sarcastic, she really is) made me one of these at 4 pm

and now I have been reading this.  And I think you should too.  Especially if you don’t believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ and His power to heal and perform miracles through the prayers of the church EVEN this very day.

And this great photographer and a sister in the Polish heritage (my father’s family is Polish) gave me a great recipe and some tips on photo editing.

Recipe:

1.
4 medium beetroots
- boil them whole without peeling in separate pot on medium heat. It will take you about an hour.
2.
In the same time cut into bite size pieces:
3 medium carrots,
2 medium potatoes,
half of onion (yellow will do)
one small parsley root
one small parsnip
2-3 tablespoons Marjoram
2-3 Bay Leaves
salt
pepper
3.
boil the vegetables in
64 oz of your favorite broth... (beef, chicken, vegetable)

at the add 2 cubes of vegetable bouillon
4.
When the beetroots are cooked peel them (using gloves), and grate them into the pot with cooked vegetables...
add 3 to 4 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar/lemon juice and cook everything together for about 15 minutes in a small heat...

Thanks Ewa

I wish I could say I am tired, but I am not.
