What's So Amazing About Grace?
Hmmm.... I liked the book better before it got into politics and national issues. I am not sure grace can be applied on a national level if folks don't understand the grace of God and the depravity of man on a personal level. I guess that's why I love Watchman Née so much. He makes it clear that our weaknesses are a blessing because it becomes clear that our strength is nothing apart from God. We need to fail, we need to become weak to be transformed into the image of God. I could be wrong, but I sense that Phillip Yancey wants to make a more perfect world through grace. But applying grace without the Spirit of God is just like everything else... A conformity not a true transformation. Just my meditation. I do agree with Yancey that grace is the only answer. God's transforming grace. The church is missing the boat in reaching out to the down and out.

Hudson is 13 Months Old
My little is 13 months old today. Can hardly believe we are one month into his second year . He is such a delight. He loves textures, jumping on pillows, laughing at his dad and big brother, playing in the toilet whenever possible (we try to limit that!), playing with real remotes (won't be faked out), playing in dirt, water and mud, throwing objects, asparagus, dried mango, cucumbers, water, and, most of all, his mommy. Definitely still a mommy's boy! I am so madly in love with him I can't take it! Precious, charming, handsome, smart, adorable - just like his big brother.

Who Are We, Really?
Man, can you imagine how unstoppable we, the body of Christ, would be if we truly understood who we really are. That has been my meditation lately. If I really knew how highly favored I am. If I really operated in God's system of grace & love towards me. It blows me away. These short and sudden glimpses of the depth God has for us. Did He not say we are MORE than conquerors ? My prayer is a fresh revelation of the grace of God, the love of God, and to truly believe in who I really am in Christ. To be a student and teacher of the Gospel of Grace. Because it's all by grace and all continues in grace. Everything else the world can counterfeit. Can't counterfeit grace. Nope. It's a system that goes against human nature. His ways are way above ours. Praise You, Jesus.

Pinterest Recipe - Quinoa Fried Rice
Quinoa Fried Rice was WAY better than I expected. WAY. Thank you, Domestic Superhero! I pinned it on Pinterest and actually made it tonight. I was shocked when Dave said he would try it and even more shocked when he really liked it. It was sans mushrooms and grated ginger because I didn't have any. I highly recommend this recipe and like it better than any homemade fried rice I have made. I made it with gluten free soy sauce.
PS - Hudson loved it. Henry not so much.

Hudson's First Phrase
So, Hudson has only been saying mama and daddah. And maybe ball sometimes. But not really talking. So last night at dinner he busted out, "Uh oh spaghettio!" What the heck? Dave and I were COMPLETELY shocked!! Shocked! He says it all the time now.
Some other things about Hudson:
He is so incredibly soft. I know babies have soft skin, but there is something extra soft about him. He LOVES to dance. If I put on little kids' music with a fast beat, he just goes crazy. He loves to be home. When he's done, he's done. He just wants to go to bed. Or doesn't want to go to bed but needs to. He loves to eat food off the floor more than off his plate. He loves water. He has NO fear. He gets into EVERYTHING. He runs to his daddy when he gets home and wants him to pick him up. He loves Tim. One of his favorite people. He likes to do naughty things. He likes to figure things out like how to turn on the TV or the fan even though he knows he's not supposed to.
Some things about Henry:
He's incredibly jealous of Hudson and has been struggling with his emotions towards me. He is going through a phase where he has been rejecting me and then regrets it. Just recently we had a break through where he let me hold him for over an hour. That has been rare lately. He is growing like a weed. He is the most social person I have ever met. He likes to stay in the church garden after church and greet every person who passes through. He likes to stay home and be on the go. He is growing like a weed. He loves his little brother but resents him at the same time. He is becoming more of a daddy's boy. Unless mommy is doing something...

What's So Amazing in About Grace?
What can the church give that the world cannot? Grace. It's incredible to get a fresh revelation of God's grace. Love this book.
